George is a highly experienced motor vehicle sales representative and has proudly worked with Mazda Artarmon for eight years, selling more than 2500 Mazdas and becoming the first Mazda salesperson in Australia to sell more than 2000 new Mazdas.
Last year, Mazda HQ presented George with a Certificate for Outstanding Mazda Sales Achievement. He has also qualified for the prestigious Mazda Sales Guild, which recognises the company’s top national performers, every year since he joined Eurocars Mazda in 2000.
An authority on all things motorised, George has been in the car industry since 1958, when he scored his first job as a motor mechanic apprentice in his home country of Scotland. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1968 and was a mechanic and workshop foreman, then a Senior Manager for 13 years before being promoted again to Sales Manager. In 1995, a work opportunity for his wife brought the couple to Australia.
“I have stayed with Eurocars Mazda because it is a family business and you deal directly with the owners,” he said.
“I have dealt with many franchisees in my lengthy career and Mazda is the most trouble-free and you can always sell a Mazda with confidence. The most important thing when selling cars is to listen to the client and try to match a Mazda to their needs.”
George is a keen golfer and scored his first hole in one after more than 40 years of trying in 2007. He has recently taken up lawn bowls and tries to play a game of bowls and golf every week.
